Q&A

Lash extensions shed naturally with your own lashes, so you’ll gradually lose extensions as your natural lashes go through their growth cycle.

Most clients come in for a refill every 2–3 weeks to keep their lashes looking full and balanced. How long your set looks its best can vary depending on your natural lash cycle, lifestyle, aftercare, and retention.

At Clement Lash, we offer refills up to 4 weeks. After four weeks, we recommend starting fresh with a Full Set + Removal.

Some shedding is completely normal. Your natural lashes continuously go through a growth cycle, and when a natural lash sheds, the extension attached to it sheds with it.

What matters is how your extensions are falling out. If you see an extension attached to a natural lash, that is often normal shedding. If you’re losing many extensions without natural lashes attached, or noticing significant loss in a short period of time, retention may be a factor.

Retention can be affected by many things, including your natural lash cycle, aftercare, oil and buildup along the lash line, lifestyle, and the application itself.

If you notice unusually fast or uneven shedding, reach out to us. We can look at what’s happening and help determine whether it’s normal shedding or a retention issue.

Losing some extensions is normal. Losing a large amount unusually quickly is worth looking into.
