How to Remove Eye Makeup With Eyelash Extensions

Eye makeup is fine with eyelash extensions, but how you remove it matters.

Use oil-free products and lint-free applicators, and make sure your lash line is completely clean.

Step 1 · Remove Eye Makeup From Your Eyelids

Soak a cotton pad with oil-free makeup remover and gently wipe your eyelids.

Step 4 · Clean Your Lash Line

Gently clean along your lash line with the soaked applicator.

Once an applicator becomes dirty, throw it away and use a fresh one. Continue with fresh applicators until the applicator comes away clean. That’s how you know the makeup and buildup have been thoroughly removed.

Remember

Oil-free only. Lint-free only. No Q-tips.

Yes. We recommend keeping your lashes dry for the first 24 hours after your appointment.

After 24 hours, cleanse your lash line every time you wash your face, ideally twice a day. Your regular facial cleanser is fine as long as it is oil-free and gentle around the eyes.

Do not avoid washing your lashes. Oil, makeup, and debris can build up along the lash line, which may affect retention and eyelid hygiene. Clean lashes are better for both your extensions and your eyes.

Yes, but some eye makeup and lash products should be avoided while wearing eyelash extensions.

You can wear eyeshadow and eyeliner, but avoid mascara on your extensions. You should also never use an eyelash curler, as it can bend, pull, or damage both the extensions and your natural lashes.

Do not apply strip lashes, lash clusters, or DIY lash extensions over your eyelash extensions. The additional adhesive and removal process can interfere with your extensions and may put unnecessary stress on your natural lashes.

When wearing eye makeup, make sure it can be removed gently and thoroughly without rubbing or pulling on your extensions.

Eyeshadow and eyeliner are fine. Skip the mascara, lash curler, and additional false lashes.

Avoid using Q-tips or cotton swabs. The fibers can get caught between the extensions and along the lash line.
