Your natural lashes are constantly growing and shedding, even while you’re wearing extensions. As they grow, some extensions move farther away from the lash line, while other natural lashes complete their growth cycle and shed with their extensions. New natural lashes are also growing in at the same time.
That means your lash set is always changing between appointments.
A refill is how we maintain the shape, balance, and fullness of your set as those changes happen. It isn’t simply filling in empty spaces. We remove extensions that have grown out too far, keep the ones that are still properly positioned, apply extensions to new and available natural lashes, and refresh the overall design.
A refill is less about replacing what you lost and more about maintaining the entire set as your natural lashes continue to grow and renew themselves.
What Actually Happens During a Refill?
We start by assessing your current set and your natural lashes.
Extensions that have grown out too far or are no longer sitting in the right position are removed. Extensions that are still secure and properly positioned can remain.
We then cleanse and prepare the lash line, apply new extensions to available natural lashes, and rebuild the shape, density, and balance of the set.
A refill is also a good time to make small adjustments. If you want the set slightly shorter, softer, fuller, or want to begin transitioning toward a different style, we can discuss that before we start.
We’re editing the existing set as much as we’re adding to it.
Why Are 2, 3, and 4 Week Refills Different?
The longer you wait between appointments, the more your lash set changes. More natural lashes will have shed, more extensions will have grown out, and more new natural lashes will be available for extensions.

Even if your lashes still look quite full after three or four weeks, you may still need a refill. Many of the extensions that remain may have grown farther away from the lash line and need to be removed and replaced so the set can be rebuilt in the correct position.
A 2 week refill usually requires less removal and rebuilding. At 3 weeks, more of the set typically needs to be refreshed. By 4 weeks, significantly more of the original set may need to be removed, replaced, and rebuilt, which is why we reserve more time for the appointment.
Your natural lash density and growth speed matter too. Some clients naturally have more lashes or slower growth and may still have a substantial set at four weeks, while others prefer to come back sooner.
More time between appointments usually means more of the set needs to be refreshed.
